In six easy steps:
1. Open your browser and visit www.gigapedia.com. The home page of the site should
look as shown below (as of the writing of this article). Find the “login” link.
It is shown below by the yellow arrow. (Note: You have to register first if you
still don’t have an account with the site.)
Step 1: Open Gigepedia.com
2. Enter your login details andthe security captcha code. Then hit the “login”
button, which should bring you to a temporary page that will confirm that you have
logged in successfuly.
Step 2: Enter your login details
3. Search for the ebook that you are looking for using the search function located
in the upper right corner of the page as shown by the yellow arrow in the snapshot
below. Make sure to change the multi-select input to gigapedia (see the close-up
snapshot).
Step 3: Search for your ebook.
The Search Bar Up Close
4. Select from the results the ebook that you want to download.
Step 4: Select from the results.
5. Upon selecting the book, you will be directed to a tabbed page containing
various info about the book (including description and reviews from Amazon.com),
but you have to look for the download links if you’re interested to get it. The
download links are in the “links” tab. Click on it as shown by the arrow below.
Step 5: Find the download links.
6. Select any of the links provided. There may be notes about the downloads like
the type of file (e.g. pdf, djvu, lit, chm, rar, 7z, or tar.gz) and sometimes a
password is provided to be used for unzipping/decompressing the downloaded
file (in case its a compressed file). Other info may also be included depending
on the person who submitted the link.
Step 6: Click on a download link.
The download links up close.
Once, you click on a download link you are automatically directed out of Gigapedia
to a file sharing site (e.g. rapidshare, ifile, megaupload, fileshare, etc.) where
the file is stored and can be downloaded. Gigapedia shows the page below when you
are being taken into a download page:
Redirecting to the download page.
The download pages in these file sharing sites vary in layout. In all cases though
just find the download button or link. The link may not appear right when you land
on the page because file sharing sites have a queing process where you have to wait
a few seconds before you can see the download link. And…take note…sometimes the
links are dead, which means that the file you are looking for may have already been
removed from the file sharing site. In this case, go back to Gigapedia and repeat
steps 3 to 6. Good luck
